We are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Director, drawn from HSRG’s membership, with immediate effect.
Mike Muldoon from SYSTRA will join the Board during an important period in the development of the UK’s high speed rail network, as the group seeks to broaden the debate and reinforce the positive aspects of the reach of the HS2 project beyond the most obvious, direct impact of the infrastructure to the wider impacts around spreading growth and prosperity more evenly across Britain; offering a zero-carbon alternative with less need for short distance air-travel and a modal shift of long-haul freight off the national road network.
Mike has been Business Development Director with SYSTRA since 2022; responsible for business development, strategy and future growth. Previously Mike was Head of Business Development at Alstom UK & Ireland where he oversaw the innovation and business development activities of Alstom in the UK and Ireland and was a member of the Green Growth Board for Liverpool City Region and Theme Lead for Net Zero Transport on the Green Growth Board of the Midlands Engine. Mike is also a registered STEM Ambassador.
Commenting on the role he will take up, Mike Muldoon said:
“It is a real pleasure to be joining such a talented team at HSRG. The UK has never needed high speed rail more than it does today. Transport must be a facilitator of a green yet prosperous, equitable and mobile society – high speed rail forms the backbone of a sustainable transport network.”
Commenting on the appointment, Jim Steer, HSRG Director said:
“We are delighted with the appointment of Mike Muldoon from SYSTRA to the HSRG Board. Mike brings a wealth of experience, complementing the skillset of the existing Board membership very well.”
