Delivering the next generation of trains for the UK’s new high speed network.

High Speed Rail Industry Leaders welcomes the Government announcement on the bidders shortlisted to deliver the next generation of state-of-the-art trains for the UK’s new high speed network.

With the first trains expected to roll off the production line in the early-2020s, the investment is expected to create hundreds of jobs and boost Britain’s skills and expertise in the high speed rail sector.

Our spokesperson commented on the announcement – “HS2 is the biggest and most ambitious infrastructure project in the country and will not only revitalise Britain’s transport networks, but also boost skills, generate employment and strengthen the UK construction and manufacturing supply chains.” (more…)

Building the right relationships within the supply chain

The redevelopment of London Bridge Station will meet growing transport needs by increasing both passenger and rail capacity at the station by 40 percent, taking passenger capacity from around 50 million to 75 million. High Speed Rail Industry Leaders (HSRIL) held a focus group event here recently, inviting a number of senior representatives from SME’s locally to take part in discussions designed to explore their role in the delivery of high speed rail.
